On my pathed commute
I hear honking.

I stay in my my lane
Flipping the bird
A literary morsel.

I’m passed by two Canadian geese.

For Day 11 of National Poetry Writing Month, the prompt was to write a poem about a place, but include an abstract line about a place as though you were not there.

I took this picture while on my morning walk. Along my path, there were two Canadian geese honking at me “in traffic” as they slowly swam by.
