Each and everyone us has a “go-to” dessert when it comes to satisfying our sweet tooth. Some of use sneak pieces of candy during the day (note: this is not an admission), whereas others wait to splurge on a splendid treat such as cheesecake. If cheesecake is your guilty pleasure, then you should really know about Muddy Paws Cheesecake.

Simply put, Muddy Paws Cheesecake is a little slice of heaven located in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. But don’t be discouraged if you cannot make it to Minnesota, because owner Tami Cabrera and her crew can send any one of her more than 222 flavors of cheesecakes right to your door in approximately three to five days.

Did I just say 222 or more flavors? Indeed. While I’m no rocket scientist, my simple calculation indicates this is approximately 191 more flavors than a Baskin-Robbins ice cream parlor. The odds of you not finding a flavor of Muddy Paws cheesecake that can’t satisfy any of your desires, is well, simply infinitesimally small.

Now I know what you are saying, “I’m a gluten-free, lactose-free, vegan.” Well, I’m not sure if she can tackle all three of those requirements in one cheesecake, but if you are vegan, check, Tami has you covered. How about gluten-free? Check check. Tami has you covered. Lactose intolerant? Ha, check check check. Tami has you covered. Simply put, you have no excuses to order what could possibly be the best cheesecake you may ever get to experience.

Yesterday I had the fortunate experience of being close to Muddy Paws and I had “arranged” to stop by to pick up a cheesecake for the Thanksgiving holiday. How did I arrange for a pickup? Through Twitter. Say what? Yes, though Twitter. Pretty neat, eh? I’ve been following Muddy Paws on Twitter and you can too right here. So don’t think you can’t find out about your favorite products through Twitter.

Tami was kind enough to give me a tour of the bakery and meet several of the bakers that were happily making an assortment of cheesecakes. I was even told that the secret ingredient is a little “love and sunshine” that goes into every cheesecake. That just made me smile.

One of Muddy Paws signature cheesecakes is the Mud Paws, which is a coffee chocolate and caramel swirled layers topped with pecans, caramel and chocolate paws, nestled on a chocolate pecan crust. Uh yeah, I think I’m skipping the pumpkin pie tomorrow on Thanksgiving.

I also was able to get a sneak peek at the world’s first pomegranate cheesecake, which looked simply decadent and amazing, as well as there were other types of freshly baked cheesecakes coming out of the oven. As pictured above on the right, the most popular cheesecake is the raspberry swirl cheesecake, which is a popular item at the roughly 500 weddings that Tami and Muddy Paws caters each year.

As I was talking further with Tami, I was also struck by her generosity towards community and the fact that she personally donates a lot of her time and cheesecakes to two types of organizations that mean a lot to her: children and pets. So “hear ye, hear ye!” On Tuesday, December 2nd from 4pm to 9pm, Tami and her team are hosting the 22nd Annual Muddy Paws Cheesecake Sampling, Toy & Food Drive and Local Goods Bazaar.

The event is open to the public and FREE with a donation of either a new unwrapped toy or an unopened bag of pet food. You will get the opportunity to sample approximately 35 of Muddy Paws’ cheesecakes, hear some great local music, but most importantly, you will be able to help out those children and pets in need of toys and food during this holiday season.

Okay, okay. So how is the cheesecake? I’m a sucker for anything red velvet and Tami was kind enough to offer me a slice of red velvet cheesecake (as well as the Mud Paw) and it was, err, I mean is incredibly delicious (note: not an act of admission that I may or may not have eaten the whole slice). Hopefully you will have a chance to stop by and give Muddy Paws Cheesecake a try.
