Sunday morning I arrived in Boston for three days. As before mentioned, I love to find local restaurants when I travel and sometimes I even send out tweets requesting suggestions. However, since I am also a “Super User” level 2 on Foursquare, I powered up my Foursquare app on my new Apple Watch. After a tap or two, about four blocks away from me was the Boston Burger Company.

As I huffed, puffed and dripped in the 90 degree Boston weather, I casually strolled over to Bolyston Street from the Hilton Boston and found the Boston Burger Company. When I walked in though, I found out that they were not open for lunch for another 20 minutes. While I could certainly have gone to another restaurant, I simply sat outside on the balcony and started sending poetic tweets to the Boston Burger Company.

Lo and behold, someone must have paid attention to their Twitter handle on this Sunday morning because I started receiving back tweets in rhyme which I found sublime. You see, every time that a community manager or social media maverick responds back to me in rhyme, it drives a higher affinity for me to a) remember the product or restaurant; and 2) makes me want to write a review about the product or restaurant simply so that I can talk about the Twitter interactions.

After a series of tweets and pictures taken, it was finally time for me to go inside to the Boston Burger Company. Once inside, I moseyed on to a table in the back of the restaurant as I usually like to spread out a bit, but more importantly I was sweating like a pig and I didn’t want anyone to see me. I had already perused the beer menu outside and after 20 minutes of melting, I was already parched. Then I found I was was so close to Fenway Park and its’ famous Green Monster, it would only be àpropos if I tried a Wachusetts “Green Monsta.” While this IPA wasn’t to hoppy, it was really tasty.

I then took a quick glance at the menu and even though this is burger joint, I always look to see if a burger joint has a veggie burger. Now I’ve said this before and I’ll say this again, I am not a vegetarian, but a “Selectarian.” I get to “select” when I’m a meat eater or a veggie eater, sometimes I’m even a gluten-free eater. I then noticed that there was a burger that my eldest lad would have love, the “Mac Attack” which was featured on one of my favorite shows, Diners Drive-Ins and Dives.

Alas, meat wasn’t my fate today and I opted to go for the veggie burger. After a few back-and-forth tweets with Boston Burger Company, my veggie burger, sans the marinated tomatoes, arrived and I quickly decided to power up my live-streaming app, Periscope where I could introduce the world to Boston Burger Company.

My veggie burger was amazing and even though I was Periscoping, I couldn’t stop grazing. But what really set Boston Burger Company apart from its’ local competition, were their homemade potato chips. Normally, I’m not a big chip eater, but these chips were perfectly made. Not too oily, yet had a great crunch and just the right amount of salt.

All-in-all I had a wonderful time at Boston Burger Company. Their social media team was “active listening” and importantly for me, responded back in poetry. Hopefully you can experience one of their 29 signature burgers and like me, don’t be afraid to add an egg or two and drink a Green Monsta too.
