About two hours ago at The Poem Home, a rather nice gentleman dropped off a cache of coupons for a free Blaze Pizza at the new Knollwood Mall site. As I had just wrapped up the “Take Your Poet To Work Day” Twitter Chat with Corner Bakery, I was really hungry. Therefore I decided to head on over to Blaze Pizza with my free coupon in hand. I only had to walk about a quarter of a mile, but once I arrived at Blaze Pizza, I smile turned to a frown as I found out that Blaze Pizza is scheduled to open tomorrow, July 16th.

As I pressed my face against the glass, I was undeterred and decided to hop in to say hello. I explained to one of the franchise partners Chris, that I knew they were not open until tomorrow, but I also like to write about new locations open and introducing all of my friends to a new place to eat. I further asked it if was okay for me to snap a few pictures of the site and he obliged. Lastly I explained to Chris that I have watched their site being built over the last several months and was eager to try their quick serve pizzas slated to have an 11 inch crust, packed with toppings and quick fired in about 180 seconds (that’s three minutes for those that might bit math challenged like myself).

For those of you that are directionally challenged like myself, the new Blaze Pizza Knollwood Mall site is at 8126 Hwy 7 in Saint Louis Park, MN 55426. I did not catch the hours in which they are open yet, but this Friday I did notice that they will be giving away FREE pizza from 11am to 10pm as part of their opening. So if you like free pizza like me, you need to head on over to Blaze Pizza this Friday, July 17th.

While Blaze Pizza does have nine signature pizzas, such as the Meat Eaters or Red Vine pizza, for only $7.95 you do have the ability to pick out a variety of fresh toppings and for a slight up-charge, you can get a gluten-free crust and Blaze Pizza even has vegetarian cheese. For those interested in building your own pizzas, here are your choices:

MEATSapplewood bacon • crumbled meatballs • grilled chicken • italian sausage • pepperoni • salame • smoked ham
VEGGIESartichokes • arugula • banana peppers • bell peppers • cherry tomatoes • chopped garlic • fresh basil • jalapeños • mushrooms • olives • pineapple • red onions • red peppers • sautéed onion • spinach • zucchini
CHEESESgoat • gorgonzola • mozzarella • ovalini mozzarella • parmesan • ricotta • vegan cheese (add’l charge)
SAUCESclassic red sauce • spicy red sauce • white cream sauce • pesto drizzle • bbq drizzle • olive oil drizzle

In the mood for a salad or dessert? Blaze Pizza has you covered there as well, so your salad eating or your gluten-free or vegan mates won’t have any excuses for not being able to go to Blaze Pizza for a quick lunch munch or a winner dinner.

I won’t be able to get to the opening tomorrow as I’ll be traveling, but on Friday I’ll post some more pictures of the Blaze Pizza Knollwood Mall site. Lastly, you can be really awesome if you follow Blaze Pizza on Twitter here, like ’em on Facebook here and see amazing pictures that will make you drool on Instagram here.
