As I now enter the month of July, aka the “Month of BBQ,” now more than ever I need to watch my caloric intake. I mean, there is barbecue, margaritas and a beer or three, always there to tempt me. So when on the run, a great snack to keep me on track is anything from KIND Snacks.
KIND Snacks was started by Daniel Lubetzky in 2004, with the purpose of providing healthy, great tasting snack alternatives. There are now six different product lines and I recently became re-acquainted with KIND Snacks. You see, I was roaming around the cafeteria hankering for a snack and lo-and-behold, I struck gold, as before my eyes was my delectable snack prize.
Around this same time, I was as in the middle of hosting the Corner Bakery Crave Chat and the conversation turned to snacks. Another participant mentioned KIND Snacks. As was par for the course, I responded in a rhyme, a tweet of my love for this heathy treat:

Most people assume that brands pay me to promote their products, which is the furthest thing from the truth. Yes, I do receive some products for snacking, I mean “testing” purposes; yet the vast majority of the products I receive come AFTER I send it a tweet of an item I have purchased. Occasionally, such as my recent review of intelliGLASS, I will take part in a program, such as through either Smile360, Social Fabric or Influenster, where I have completed surveys of an application process to receive a products. Per FTC guidelines, I always disclose if I’ve received a product for free.Read: intelliGLASS gives my iPhone some CLASS
But trust me, there are thousands of companies looking to have unbiased reviews of their products, which is a great way to start of blog or website. Just remember that to not come off too spammy or that your are only promoting products you had received for free or were paid to write. Therefore as a general rule of thumb, I believe about 90% of your articles should be original content versus a “promoted” post.
After I sent out my KIND Snacks sweet treat tweet (oops, I rhymed) I received an awfully KIND email (see what I did there). The KIND overture was a simple thank you for being such a KIND fan. You see, I rarely complain yet if I do it will always be in a rhyme or a haiku. Furthermore, KIND Snacks wanted to send me a something as a thank you for the tweet. That was so neat. Approximately a week or so later, I sample box of about 20 bars was at my door. My current favorite KIND Snacks bar is the Dark Chocolate Nuts & Sea Salt. With 7 grams of fiber, 6 grams of protein, and only 5 grams of sugar, this bar is perfect for me. Now I know what you’re thinking. If I receive products at my house, don’t my delivery folks known my real identity. Don’t worry, they are like Batman’s Alfred. They know they man behind the mask, yet are sworn to secrecy.
