Rage is like a light.
Constantly burning inside.
Through the looking glass.

This haiku was in response to a tweet that that I received from Haiku Hare:

While Haiku Hare’s tweet was a nice play on Motel 6’s catchphrase “We’ll leave the light on for you,” my responding haiku actually captures several different elements.

Rage can burn inside of each and everyone one of us like a light. Yet when I stare in front of a looking glass (or mirror), it reminds me of Alice in Wonderland.

Just like a hare that chases something down a never ending rabbit hole, I too can chase, yet never catch, my own rage. So what do I do? I bottle up my rage hoping that it never escapes and that its’ filament breaks, leaving itself inside the glass lightbulb, never to burn again.
