Since early 2000, I estimate I have stayed nearly 1,000 nights at hotels for business and personal travel. I am a member of multiple hotel loyalty programs, but as of late I have been staying a fair amount at various Hilton Hotels‘ properties. The iconic Hilton Hotels’ brands include such notable hotels as DoubleTree, Embassy Suites, Hampton Inns, Waldorf Astoria and recently launched both its Canopy by Hilton and Curio by Hilton brands.
Although I never ask for a “deal,” I utilize social media a fair amount in order to ask different questions of brands that I follow. Sometimes it is for a lunch suggestion, but often times it is simply easier for me to tweet to a brand to ask them a specific question, especially as it relates to a location of a hotel. Though my interactions with Hilton on Twitter (hint – follow them here), I was able to find a location near my business meeting and was able to stay at The Waterfront Beach Resort by Hilton (fun fact: tweet to Hilton Suggests here if are looking for dinner reservations while traveling, they are an excellent source for localized suggestions).
Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to travel to Surf City, USA, also known as Huntington Beach, California. So I sent out this tweet to try to get a sense of where to stay:

Hilton Hotels was quick to respond and although Newport Beach was where I really needed to stay, I decided to stay in Huntington Beach. The Waterfront Beach Resort by Hilton is perfectly situated near the “waterfront” known as the Pacific Ocean. A short hop, skip and jump and I was across the street with my toes perfectly placed in the Huntington Beach sand.
So let me tell you a little bit about this 290 room, AAA rated Four Diamond Resort, which can and should be your home away from home for a relaxing weekend or a business trip. Located in the heart of Surf City USA, also known as Huntington Beach, The Waterfront Beach Resort is a stones throw away from Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm and the Aquarium of the Pacific. From the amazing beds to the fitness fun (both indoor and outdoor activities), you can relax at the award-winning Shades Restaurant & Bar to watch amazing sunsets. A very large and heated pool awaits you and your family from a long business meeting or dining and shopping nearby.
You will also discover that The Waterfront Beach Resort by Hilton is close to three different airports: Los Angeles International (LAX), Long Beach (LBG) and John Wayne-Orange County (SNA).
Furthermore, when I checked into my room, I was received an awesome welcome gift and a nice note from the Hilton staff thanking me for being a Hilton Honors member. I was even able to use a little gift certificate to purchase the perfect waterfront book for a poet, Poems Of The Sea. Although I only had the opportunity to stay for one night at The Waterfront Beach Resort by Hilton, I can truly say that my night was magical.
So the next time that you are looking to stay in and around Surf City USA, you really have to check out The Waterfront Beach Resort by Hilton. I can’t wait to get back soon, so I can hear the seagulls croon.
